On June 17, 2013 there was an accident involving an ATV being illegally operated on a municipal street and a pedestrian, resulting in injuries to the pedestrian. The town has been advised by the RCMP that there will be a Zero Tolerance policy, and charges will be laid, for anyone caught operating an ATV or dirt bike on the road including the sidewalk, and the shoulder in areas where there is no sidewalk. The only tolerance will be for operators who walk their ATV or dirt bike through these areas. Furthermore, residents who witness illegal operation of ATV's and dirt bikes can make a complaint to the RCMP and charges will be laid in these cases as well.
